Summary

DPPA2 (developmental pluripotency associated 2, HGNC:19197) is a protein-coding gene on chromosome 3q13.13, encoding Developmental pluripotency-associated protein 2 (Q7Z7J5). Binds to target gene promoters, including NKX2-5 and SYCE1, but not GATA4, and may be involved in the maintenance of the active epigenetic status of these genes. It is a selective cancer dependency (DepMap: 21.6% of cell lines).

Predicted to enable chromatin binding activity. Predicted to be involved in system development. Predicted to act upstream of or within several processes, including epigenetic regulation of gene expression; lung-associated mesenchyme development; and positive regulation of stem cell proliferation. Located in nucleoplasm.
