Regulation

Is transcription factor: no

Literature-anchored findings (GeneRIF, showing 8)

  • HAS2 transcription can be finely regulated not only by recruiting transcription factors to the promoter as previously described but also by modulating chromatin accessibility by epigenetic modifications (PMID:25183006)
  • Results suggest that hypoxia would induce an overexpression of HAS2-AS1 in an HIF-1alpha dependent manner. The increase of HAS2-AS1 plays important roles mediating the hypoxia-regulated EMT and invasiveness of oral squamous cell carcinoma. (PMID:28485478)
  • Results provide evidence that Has2-AS has a key role in TGFbeta- and HAS2-induced breast cancer epithelial-mesenchymal transition, migration and acquisition of stemness. Its expression is inversely correlated with survival of patients with invasive breast carcinomas. (PMID:30194979)
  • Hyaluronan synthase 2 (HAS2) antisense RNA 1 (HAS2-AS1) shows low expression in immature cumulus cells (CCs) and a significant increase expression in mature CCs. Functional studies reveal that inhibition of HAS2-AS1 by siRNA causes decreased expression of HAS2. Inhibition of HAS2-AS1 by siRNA results in decreased migration of granulosa cells. (PMID:30819231)
  • Long noncoding RNA HAS2-AS1 promotes tumor progression in glioblastoma via functioning as a competing endogenous RNA. (PMID:31385362)
  • Sirtuin 1 reduces hyaluronan synthase 2 expression by inhibiting nuclear translocation of NF-kappaB and expression of the long-noncoding RNA HAS2-AS1. (PMID:31932306)
  • The natural antisense transcript HAS2-AS1 regulates breast cancer cells aggressiveness independently from hyaluronan metabolism. (PMID:35395387)
  • The Upregulation of HAS2-AS1 Relates to the Granulosa Cell Dysfunction by Repressing TGF-beta Signaling and Upregulating HAS2. (PMID:35938797)
