Summary
LINP1 (lncRNA in non-homologous end joining pathway 1, HGNC:53170) is a long non-coding RNA gene on chromosome 10p14.
At a glance
- Gene type: non-coding (lncRNA) — no protein product; not a drug target. Variant/disease associations are omitted (they would be positional, from an overlapping protein-coding gene).

Literature-anchored findings (GeneRIF, showing 12)
- Using a clinically guided genetic screening approach, this study identified lncRNA in nonhomologous end joining (NHEJ) pathway 1 ), which is overexpressed in human triple-negative breast cancer. LINP1 associates with proteins in the NHEJ pathway. (PMID:27111890)
- Study uncovered that LINP1 mediates its oncogenic role in breast cancer by suppressing cell growth and metastasis. Additionally, LINP1 overexpression was found in 5-fluorouracil - and doxorubicin- resistant breast cancer cell lines and was positively associated with chemoresistance. Finally, study indicated that upregulated LINP1 expression in breast cancer was associated with an unfavorable prognosis. (PMID:29293402)
- LINP1 facilitates DSBs repair through NHEJ pathway and may thus serve as a prognostic marker and a potential target for the therapy of cervical cancer. LINP1 knockdown increases radiosensitivity of Hela S3 cells. (PMID:29527968)
- LINP1 appeared to have higher expression in breast cancer tissues than in adjacent non-tumor tissues. Increased expression of LINP1 was correlated with advanced TNM stage, more lymph node metastasis, and poorer pathological differentiation. Furthermore, clinical assay indicated that patients with high LINP1 expression had a shorter overall survival and disease-free survival compared with the low LINP1 expression group. (PMID:30575915)
- LINP1 was found to inhibit the glucose metabolism by suppressing the expression of HNF4a. LINP1 strengthened the HNF4a-AMPK/WNT5A signaling pathway involved in cell glucose metabolism modulation and AML cell survival. LINP1 promotes the malignant phenotype of AML cells and stimulates glucose metabolism. (PMID:31325181)
- Long non-coding RNA LINP1 functions as an oncogene in endometrial cancer progression by regulating the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. (PMID:31486482)
- LncRNA LINP1 confers tamoxifen resistance and negatively regulated by ER signaling in breast cancer. (PMID:31927036)
- LINP1 promotes the progression of cervical cancer by scaffolding EZH2, LSD1, and DNMT1 to inhibit the expression of KLF2 and PRSS8. (PMID:32348690)
- STAT1-induced upregulation of lncRNA LINP1 promotes cell proliferation and inhibits apoptosis via AMPK signaling pathway in papillary thyroid cancer. (PMID:32964981)
- LncRNA LINP1 promotes malignant progression of pancreatic cancer by adsorbing microRNA-491-3p. (PMID:33015772)
- LncRNA-AK149641 regulates the secretion of tumor necrosis factor-alpha in P815 mast cells by targeting the nuclear factor-kappa B signaling pathway. (PMID:33024135)
