Summary

MIR155HG (MIR155 host gene, HGNC:35460) is a long non-coding RNA gene on chromosome 21q21.3. Negatively regulates MHC class II antigen presentation in dendritic cells by interacting with the molecular chaperone HSPA8 and impairing its role in lysosomal antigen transport.

This gene represents a microRNA host gene. The long RNA transcribed from this gene is expressed at high levels in lymphoma and may function as an oncogene.

At a glance

  • Gene type: non-coding (lncRNA) — no protein product; not a drug target. Variant/disease associations are omitted (they would be positional, from an overlapping protein-coding gene).
