Summary

PCBP2-OT1 (PCBP2 overlapping transcript 1, HGNC:49150) is a long non-coding RNA gene on chromosome 12q13.13.

At a glance

  • Gene type: non-coding (lncRNA) — no protein product; not a drug target. Variant/disease associations are omitted (they would be positional, from an overlapping protein-coding gene).

Literature-anchored findings (GeneRIF, showing 7)

  • overexpression leads to enhanced proliferation and reduced apoptosis in tongue squamous cell carcinoma (PMID:27637778)
  • TUC338 role in in sorafenib-resistance of liver cancer cells (PMID:27878301)
  • TUC.338 is up-regulated in colorectal cancer tissues and cell lines, and it is associated with lymphatic metastasis.TIMP-1 is negatively regulated by TUC.338 at the posttranscriptional level, via a specific target site within the 3’ UTR. TUC.338 acts as a novel oncogene by targeting the TIMP-1 gene thus promoting colorectal cancer cell migration and invasion. (PMID:27914101)
  • After interfering and overexpressing TUC338, it was found that the activity of lung cancer cells was decreased, as well as the invasion ability after interference with TUC338. (PMID:29424901)
  • Our results show that uc.338 may play an important role in tumorigenesis and progression and could serve as a potential independent prognostic biomarker for patients with non-small cell lung cancer (PMID:29843223)
  • Results found that TUC338 was upregulated in tumor tissues of prostate carcinoma patients as well as its plasma levels which correlates with poor survival. Further results provide evidence that TUC338 may serve as an oncogene in prostate carcinoma patients by downregulating miR-466. (PMID:31085276)
  • lncRNA TUC338 is a potential diagnostic biomarker for bladder cancer. (PMID:31162712)
