  • Authors describe that lncRNA MANTIS (alias AK125871) is controlled by histone demethylase JARID1B and important to facilitate endothelial angiogenic gene expression and nucleosome remodelling by interaction and promotion of BRG1. The lncRNA acts through its Alu element and is required for spheroid outgrowth, tube formation, misregulated in pulmonary hypertension and glioblastoma and inducible with laminar flow. (PMID:28351900)
  • LncRNA MANTIS is inducible by laminar flow and statins through transcription factors KLF2 and KLF4. Loss of MANTIS increased endothelial monocyte adhesion in an ICAM-1-dependent manner. Gene expression and functional responses of endothelial cells to laminar flow and statins are dependent on MANTIS. (PMID:31222221)
