Function. Plays an essential role in male fertility. TEX38 and ZDHHC19 form a complex in developing sperm. This complex may regulate S-palmitoylation of the proteins that are essential for generating functional sperm with the correct morphology.

Subunit / interactions. Interacts with ZDHHC19; this interaction is essential for ZDHHC19 stability and localization to the plasma membrane.
