Summary

TRAPPC1 (trafficking protein particle complex subunit 1, HGNC:19894) is a protein-coding gene on chromosome 17p13.1, encoding Trafficking protein particle complex subunit 1 (Q9Y5R8). May play a role in vesicular transport from endoplasmic reticulum to Golgi. It is a common-essential gene (DepMap: required in 98.7% of cancer cell lines).

This gene product plays a role in vesicular transport of proteins to the Golgi apparatus from the endoplasmic reticulum. The encoded protein is a component of the multisubunit transport protein particle (TRAPP) complex. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
